Counter then Fridge

  1. Keep whole melon at room temperature until ripe
  2. Check for sweet aroma at blossom end
  3. Once ripe, refrigerate whole
  4. Wash rind before cutting
Cut/Prepared storage method for produce that has been cut open (shorter duration, different handling) 3-4 days

Cut Melon

  1. Wash rind before cutting
  2. Wrap cut side in plastic wrap
  3. Refrigerate immediately
Freezing freezing method 6-12 months

Frozen

  1. Cut into cubes
  2. Freeze in single layer on baking sheet
  3. Transfer to freezer bags
  4. Best for smoothies or sorbet
