Refrigerated

  1. Do not wash until ready to use
  2. Store in perforated plastic bag or crisper drawer
  3. Refrigerate
  4. Keep away from ethylene producers
Cut/Prepared storage method for produce that has been cut open (shorter duration, different handling) 2-3 days

Cut Yellow Squash

  1. Wrap cut end in plastic wrap or store in sealed container
  2. Refrigerate
Freezing freezing method 10-12 months

Blanched and Frozen

  1. Wash, slice or cube, and blanch briefly
  2. Cool in ice bath and drain
  3. Pack in freezer bags
  4. Best for cooked dishes
