Reusable Vacuum Food Containers

FOSA's reusable vacuum food storage system pairs BPA-free, dishwasher-safe plastic containers with a compact cordless pump that draws the air out of each container with the press of a button. By removing most of the oxygen around the food, the containers slow oxidation and the growth of mold and bacteria, keeping produce, leftovers, and dry goods fresh several times longer than an ordinary airtight container. The containers are stackable and available in a range of sizes, and unlike disposable vacuum bags they can be used again and again.

To use the system you fill a FOSA container, close the lid, then place the small battery-powered pump directly on top of the lid's valve and press the button. The pump evacuates most of the air from inside the container and the one-way valve holds the vacuum until you release it by lifting a tab on the lid. With the oxygen removed, the rate of oxidation, mold, and bacterial growth slows dramatically, which is what extends shelf life - in side-by-side tests berries kept in a vacuum container resist mold far longer than the same berries in a standard container. Because the same containers and pump are reused indefinitely, the system replaces single-use vacuum bags for everyday storage of produce, meal-prep, leftovers, and pantry staples.
