About

Traditional Italian curved-blade chopping tool with handles on both ends. The rocking motion allows for quick, controlled chopping of herbs without electricity, providing more control over texture than a food processor.

How It Works

The mezzaluna (Italian for "half moon") is a curved blade with handles at each end. Place herbs on a cutting board, position the blade over them, and rock it back and forth using both handles. The curved shape keeps the blade in constant contact with the board as it rocks, efficiently cutting through herbs with each motion.

The mezzaluna offers more control over final texture than electric choppers - you can easily achieve anything from a rough chop to a fine mince by varying your rocking time. This is particularly useful when prepping different herbs for freezing, where you might want basil coarsely chopped but parsley finely minced. The double-blade versions cut twice as fast as single blades. No electricity needed makes it perfect for outdoor prep or camping.
