Paper Towel Method

  1. Do NOT wash until ready to eat
  2. Remove any damaged cherries
  3. Place in single layer on paper-towel lined container
  4. Store uncovered or loosely covered in fridge
  5. Keep stems attached until eating
Freezing freezing method 6-12 months

Frozen

  1. Wash and remove stems
  2. Pit if desired
  3. Freeze in single layer on baking sheet
  4. Transfer to freezer bags
  5. Best for smoothies, baking, or preserves
Long Term preservation methods like canning, dehydrating, pickling, fermenting 1-2 years

Preserves

  1. Pit cherries
  2. Cook with sugar until thickened
  3. Pack into sterilized jars
  4. Process using water bath canning
