Corn Prep Peeler
Y-shaped peeler with a serrated stainless blade that strips corn kernels off the cob in clean rows for freezing or cooking
About
Corn-stripping tool built like a Y-peeler, with a serrated Japanese stainless steel blade positioned at the angle needed to shear whole kernels off the cob in a single downward pull. OXO's current tool for taking corn off the cob, replacing the discontinued cup-style Corn Stripper.
How It Works
Sweet corn converts its sugars to starch quickly after harvest, so freezing kernels soon after buying preserves the most flavor. The Y-peeler shape is easy to control from any grip, and the blade is set to cut at the base of the kernels, releasing them in clean rows without digging into the cob — much faster and safer than working down a cob with a knife.
Stripped kernels can be blanched and frozen flat on a tray, then bagged, keeping their sweetness for months.
