Produce Saver Herb Keeper

Upright herb storage container from OXO's Produce Saver line, the successor to the GreenSaver herb keeper. Herb stems sit in a shallow water well at the base — like flowers in a vase — while the clear cover maintains humidity and protects delicate leaves from getting crushed in the fridge.

Fresh herbs wilt quickly because they lose moisture through their leaves after harvest. Standing stems in water lets the herbs keep drawing moisture up, while the enclosed cover slows evaporation and shields leaves from the drying airflow of the refrigerator.

The base is designed for easy water changes every few days, and the tall clear design fits refrigerator door shelves. Works for cilantro, parsley, basil, mint, dill, and other tender-stem herbs; basil is often better kept at room temperature, which this container also accommodates.
